Vault Industries (“Vault Industries,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Explain AI, an educational application designed to help users understand concepts, generate explanations, create and study flashcards, take quizzes and practice tests, organize study materials, and track learning progress.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Explain AI collects, how that information is used, how information may be stored or shared, how we protect information, and the choices users have regarding their information.

By using Explain AI, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Explain AI, we may collect or process the following categories of information.

Account Information

When you create or use an Explain AI account, we may collect:

• Account identifier

• Display name or profile name

• Profile picture or avatar

• Authentication information necessary to maintain your account and sign you in

We use this information to create and maintain your account, authenticate you, synchronize your data, provide account-related functionality, and protect the security of Explain AI.

Google Sign-In Information

Explain AI offers Sign in with Google as an authentication option.

If you choose to sign in with Google, Explain AI may access or receive basic Google account information authorized through the Google authentication process, which may include:

• Your Google profile picture

• A unique identifier associated with your Google account

Explain AI uses Google user data only to provide Google Sign-In, authenticate you, identify or create your Explain AI account, display applicable profile information, and associate your saved Explain AI data with your account.

Explain AI does not use Google Sign-In to access your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Calendar events, Google Contacts, documents, photos, or other private content stored in your Google account.

Explain AI does not sell Google user data.

Explain AI does not use Google user data for targeted advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, determining creditworthiness, lending purposes, or sale to data brokers or information resellers.

Explain AI does not use information obtained through Google Sign-In to train generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Google user data is only used as described in this Privacy Policy and as necessary to provide and secure Explain AI's user-facing functionality.

2. Study and User-Generated Content

When you use Explain AI, you may provide information or create study content such as:

• Questions and prompts

• Topics you want explained

• Generated explanations

• Flashcards and flashcard decks

• Quiz content and quiz results

• Practice tests and results

• Collections and organizational information

• Favorites

• Study activity

• Study progress

• Other educational content you choose to submit or save

This information may be stored so that Explain AI can provide its features and synchronize your study materials across sessions or devices when applicable.

We may process study activity and results to provide features such as progress tracking, streaks, study history, and other learning-related functionality.

3. AI-Powered Features

Explain AI uses artificial intelligence to provide certain educational features.

When you submit a prompt, question, topic, or other study content to an AI-powered feature, the information necessary to fulfill your request may be processed by AI or infrastructure service providers used to operate Explain AI.

This processing is performed for purposes such as:

• Generating educational explanations

• Generating study materials

• Creating quizzes

• Creating flashcards

• Creating practice-test content

• Responding to educational requests

• Providing other AI-powered functionality requested by the user

Users should avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for their educational request.

Google user data obtained through Google Sign-In is not used to train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.

4. Technical and Device Information

Explain AI may process certain technical information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the application.

• Subscription or entitlement status

5. Subscription and Purchase Information

Explain AI offers paid features through Explain AI Pro.

Purchases may be processed through Google Play and subscription-management providers such as RevenueCat.

Explain AI does not directly receive or store your complete credit-card or payment-card number from Google Play purchases.

We may receive or process information related to a purchase or subscription, including:

• Subscription status

• Product or subscription purchased

• Entitlement status

• Purchase or renewal status

• Identifiers necessary to associate a subscription with the appropriate user or device

• Information necessary to restore purchases

We use this information to determine whether you are entitled to Explain AI Pro features and to provide subscription-management functionality.

6. Notifications

If you enable notifications, Explain AI may process information necessary to provide notification functionality, including notification preferences and applicable device-related notification information.

You may control notification permissions through your device settings and applicable settings within Explain AI.

We may use information collected or processed through Explain AI to:

• Provide Google Sign-In

Information may be processed or disclosed to service providers when reasonably necessary to operate Explain AI and provide its functionality.

Supabase — used for services such as authentication, databases, cloud synchronization, user profiles, and storage.

Google — used for Google Sign-In, Android and Google Play services, application distribution, and Google Play purchase functionality.

RevenueCat — used to manage and verify subscription status, purchases, purchase restoration, and Explain AI Pro entitlements.

AI and infrastructure service providers — may process prompts, questions, or study content when necessary to provide AI-powered functionality requested by the user.

Service providers may process information only as necessary to provide the applicable services and subject to their respective terms, privacy practices, and our applicable agreements with them.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request

• Protect the security and integrity of Explain AI

• Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents

• Protect the rights, property, or safety of Vault Industries, Explain AI users, or others

Google User Data Disclosure

Google user data obtained through Google Sign-In is not sold to third parties.

We do not transfer or disclose Google user data to third parties for advertising, targeted advertising, data brokerage, creditworthiness, lending, or other unrelated commercial purposes.

Google user data may be processed by service providers only when necessary to provide, secure, maintain, or support Explain AI's user-facing functionality.

9. Data Storage

Information associated with Explain AI may be stored using cloud infrastructure and database providers used to operate the application.

For signed-in users, certain account information and study data may be stored in cloud systems so that it can be associated with the user's account and synchronized between sessions or supported devices.

Certain information may also be stored locally on a user's device where necessary for application functionality.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Explain AI against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse.

These measures may include authentication controls, access controls, secure network communications, database security controls, and security functionality provided by our infrastructure providers.

Where appropriate and supported by our service providers, information is protected using encryption in transit and security mechanisms designed to protect stored information.

However, no electronic storage, transmission, or information-security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts and devices.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for only as long as reasonably necessary to provide Explain AI, maintain user accounts and saved content, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce applicable agreements.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose.

Information associated with an active Explain AI account may generally be retained while the account remains active.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, we may delete or anonymize it, subject to applicable legal, security, backup, fraud-prevention, and operational requirements.

12. Account and Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their Explain AI account and associated personal information.

Please identify the Explain AI account you want deleted so that we can process the request.

Upon a valid deletion request, we will delete or take reasonable steps to delete personal information associated with the account unless retention of particular information is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Information contained in backups may remain temporarily until those backups are overwritten or deleted according to applicable retention procedures.

Deleting Explain AI account data does not necessarily cancel an active Google Play subscription. Users should separately manage applicable subscriptions through Google Play.

13. User Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

These may include the ability to:

• Request information about personal information associated with you

• Request correction of inaccurate information

• Request deletion of personal information

• Withdraw certain permissions through your device or account settings

• Manage notification permissions

• Manage Google account authorization through your Google account

• Manage subscriptions through Google Play

We will review the request and take appropriate action, including deleting information where required.

This Privacy Policy describes Explain AI's handling of information. Third-party services may separately govern information processed directly by those services.

16. Google API Services and Limited Use

Explain AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to applicable Google API Services policies, including applicable Limited Use requirements.

Explain AI accesses only Google user information necessary to provide the Google Sign-In and account functionality requested by the user.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, data brokerage, creditworthiness determinations, lending, or other unrelated purposes.

We do not sell Google user data.

We do not use Google user data obtained through Google Sign-In to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Explain AI changes, our data practices change, or legal or regulatory requirements change.

When we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the Last Updated date displayed at the top of this page.

Users should periodically review this Privacy Policy for updates.

If a change materially affects how Google user data or other personal information is handled, we will update applicable disclosures as required.
